Fantastic Contraption

If you’re old enough to remember DOS games, then you’ll probably have played The Incredible Machine.
Well, this is very similar, only it’s a simplified online version called Fantastic Contraption. The idea is to get the little red thing into the other little red thing. This isn’t nearly as simple as it sounds.

The reason it’s not [...]

Buy this blog!

The always excellent Utter Insanity blog has a link to this rather funky website ranking web application. Apparently StalkingVenus is worth $2971! God knows how they come up with the results, but it’s a bit of fun anyway.

Horribly addictive online game

I ran across this yesterday and decided I’d give it a try. Several hours later, I forced myself to save and exit, or I would have ended up getting carpal tunnel syndrome in my eyes! GemCraft is one of those really simple games, but with totally addictive gameplay.

WTF?! A playable parody of WoW.

If you’ve ever hacked-and-slashed your way through the mind-numbing tedium of an online roleplaying game, even one as good as World of Warcraft, you’ll like this. Greg Costikyan, has designed and developed a parody of WoW that fondly takes the piss out of the entire genre.
He’s created a flash-based side-scrolling game with his tongue placed [...]

Newbie review: Grand Theft Auto 4

I’m new to the Playstation, having recently made the switch from PC gaming to console gaming, so I have to admit that I didn’t really know what all the fuss was about with this game.
Everybody - including people who don’t play games at all - was going on about it long before it was even [...]

A great diversion

This is currently my favourite work diversion. It’s a free web based game that allows you to start and expand a civilization. The cool thing about it is that you can login, set something in motion (e.g. upgrade the town hall) and then log off again.
The game keeps going while you’re away, so that [...]
