Baby doll rescued from Aussie car
This morning’s LOLnews is about a rescue attempt in Queensland, Australia, where ‘frantic’ police smashed a car window to rescue an unconcious baby that had been left in the back seat… Only it wasn’t a baby, but rather a very realistic baby doll.
Creator of the ‘reborn’ dolls, Ms. Vynette Cernik says that it isn’t the first time one of her creations has been mistaken for the real thing. There was a similar case in the U.S. where the window of a new Hummer was broken to ‘rescue’ the doll from the utility vehicle.
What I find strange is the fact that there’s a market for ultra-realistic infant dolls, with words like squishy being used in the marketing blurb.
I mean, check out this baby that’s up for sale on eBay and tell me you don’t think it looks like the real deal. It’s made using special heat paints, hair implants, hand painted milk spots and mottling, and these suckers retail for up to $1000 each.
I suppose you could make a vaguely valid argument that there are people who want babies, but none of the responsibility that comes with a real pissing, shitting, vomiting, screaming little bundle of joy, but I’m more inclined to think there’s got to be something wrong with people who buy these things.
What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
